Sites Supporting Sailing in the NECSC supported Keelboat Classes

Information regarding the International 2.4mR Class Association including: Class rules; Tuning guides; Worldwide Regatta Schedules; Regatta Results.

Information regarding the United States 2.4mR Class Association, their organization and regatta schedule. This keelboat class is organized under the International Sailing Federation (ISAF), the International 2.4mR Class Association and the United States Sailing Association. It is one of the fastest growing classes in North America.

 

The objectives of the Sonar Class Association shall be to promote one-design racing in a boat that is lively, comfortable and fun to sail. To promote class racing among boats that are equal and keep one-design standards in perpetuity. To accomplish this there are strict Class Rules in the categories as indicated:

 

Gavia Yachts is the licensee of the Norlin Mark III, International 2.4mR and United States N3 Class, single-handed keel boat.  Used exclusively for single-handed keelboat training at the NECSC.

Shumway Marine builds the Sonar Class boat, used exclusively for training in the crewed keelboat program at the NECSC.

The Nyack Boat Club was informally started in the late 1890's by a group of boating enthusiasts to insure the continuation of recreational sailing and boating on the majestic Hudson. Set on a beautiful 2 1/2 acre site, the club is equidistant between the Tappan Zee Bridge and lovely Hook Mountain, on the west shore of the river.
